General Terms and Conditions

1. Please submit your application form via our online application platform together with your minimum donation.
2. Participation availability will be assigned following a first-come-first-served basis.
3. The Green Earth reserves the right to cancel any application that does not meet the minimum donation requirement, the amount raised and handed in will not be refunded.
4. Donation receipts will be emailed to the registered donor. Please provide the donor’s information clearly on the form for receipt purposes.
5. Donations will NOT be refunded should the event be cancelled due to bad weather or under any other unforeseeable circumstances.
6. Participants are strongly advised to purchase insurance at their own expense.
7. The Green Earth reserves the right to the final decision on acceptance of applications and to change the event details without prior notice.
8. The Green Earth reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
9. The Green Earth reserves the right to the final decision in all matters pertaining to the event. Any changes or contingent measures for the event will be posted on The Green Earth online media.

Remarks for Night Walk

1. We will email event details and e-registration cards to individual participants / team leaders between 3 February and 14 February 2025. Team leaders will be responsible for distributing the information to their teammates. No E-registration card replacement and walk-in registration will be allowed on the event day.
2. Please present the E-registration card at the registration counter of the walk.
3. There will be no bag storage service at the venue. Please keep an eye on your personal belongings.
4. If participants need to leave during the event, please inform event officials at the checkpoint or call the emergency hotline of the event. Otherwise, you will be treated as a missing person.

Please Support a Low Carbon Green Walk

1. No disposable bottled water and disposable cups will be provided. Please bring your own bottles and tableware.
2. There will be water refill stations located at the start / finish point and throughout the route. Please bring your own water bottle for refilling.
3. Please avoid bringing single-use packaged food and drinks.
4. Please bring along your own utensils to enjoy the food and drinks we will provide at the event.
5. To minimize the event’s carbon footprint, participants are encouraged to commute by public transport or shuttle bus arranged by The Green Earth. Please avoid driving to the venue, no parking space will be provided.
6. Recycling facilities will be set up at the registration area. Please support clean recycling.
7. Please “Take Your Litter Home” and “Leave no Trace”.

Safety Remarks

1. All participants must declare that they are physically fit to participate in the event.
2. Please take good care of yourself and the other participants. Please follow the instructions given by the organizer and do not deviate from the designated route.
3. Part of the route is accessible by vehicles and bicycles. Please be aware of any moving vehicles.
4. To prevent accidents, please do not point your flashlight toward any moving vehicles.
5. In case of typhoon signal No.3 or above, amber / red / black rainstorm warning or thunderstorm warning is hoisted at or after 11 a.m. by the Hong Kong Observatory on the event day, the event will be canceled, and donation will NOT be refunded.

Video and Audio Collection and Use Statement

Participants’ image (film or photographs), voice (video recording, sound clip, or other formats), and / or story may be used to tell people about The Green Earth's work. These image/ voice/ story could appear on websites, in newspapers, on social media platforms, in a report, or on television and radio. However, The Green Earth is not obliged to use your story. We cannot remove content that has already been published. 

Personal Information Collection and Use Statement

The Green Earth (TGE) undertakes to comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to ensure that personal data collected are accurate and secure. Your personal information (including name, postal and/or email addresses, and telephone number) may be used by The Green Earth, for the purposes of sending you newsletters, surveys, fundraising appeals, donation or membership administration, event invitations, other communication and marketing via postal mail, electronic mail, telephone, SMS and online means, etc. You may opt-out of receiving communications from us at any time by email (info@greenearth.org.hk)
