Waste Reduction Pledge
The shelving of the waste-charging scheme in late May 2024 has subsided much of the public concern about waste disposal. However, this does not mean that the city’s escalating waste crisis has also been diminished. On the contrary, our waste crisis persists, and there is a high and probable risk that the public may soon overlook and forget about the urgency of this issue. It is crucial for both businesses and households to take action in order to effectively address the waste crisis.
Recognising the undesirable environmental impacts of the waste crisis, The Green Earth sincerely invites companies to commit to our Waste Reduction Pledge as we are aware that many from the business sector have already prepared thoroughly for reduction best practices.
The Waste Reduction Pledge requires companies or entities to do the following two steps:
1. To educate employees to understand what are the waste crises confronting the city
2. To educate employees to practise waste reduction at source and clean recycling

Official Launch Ceremony
The official launch of The Green Earth's Waste Reduction Pledge was successfully held on 17 Oct 2024. We have brought together businesses and organisations that are dedicated to meeting these objectives to demonstrate their support for the pledge and share their expertise. By spotlighting these initiatives and recognising the efforts of organisations investing in waste reduction, we hope others will be inspired and follow suit. Together, through collective action, we can positively alter the course of our environmental impact.
